I posted this as a statement on another Blog
of a Brother in Christ.
There are so many today who over look what
the Apostles were conveying while speaking
of the Law and Works.
Christ Jesus fulfilled the old law and it pasted away.
We are under a new Covenant.
A New Israel of God, if you will.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
When the Apostles were speaking of Works they were speaking of Works of the law.
That work is dead.
We though being in the Love of Jesus our Father work to show ourselves approved.
We Work to Shine his Light to uplift and to Glorify him
This does not contradict but validates the Bible teaching regarding our walk with Christ.
Yes to walk can be considered a Work.
Matt 5
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. 17 ¶Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
John 6
27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. 28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
John 8
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. 39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
Acts 26
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judæa, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
Gal 2
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in
Titus 2
7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, them.
Titus 3
8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
There are numerous verses through out the New Testament to ring this truth out loud and clear.
I limit myself to Just what I posted.
I end it with these Verses.
James 2
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Christians are not Just pretty little Christians!
We are Workers.
The Body.
The Vessels created for God to use to Spread his word to implant the seed to grow in the hearts of those called to Christ..
If we do not work we do not have any fruit and we will not be distinguished between Wheat and tares.
Matt 13
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
